Thank you considering us to make your special Cake/Cupcakes! You can rest assured that my cakes are made with the highest quality ingredients and are bespoke so may vary from cake to cake! No cake is ever 100% the same to ensure that each individual’s cake is personal to them.
FREE, NO OBLIGATION QUOTES
Since all cakes/cupcakes are bespoke, Cooke Cakes are happy to provide customers with a free, no obligation quote. In order to provide an accurate quote, please provide us with the following information:
Any theme or specific ideas you have in mind (feel free to send through any pictures, they can be a big help!)
A rough idea of how many people you want the cake to serve.
Type of cake required – fondant, buttercream, buttercream drip etc.
Flavours
The date on wish you wish to collect your cake:
Please be aware that your baked goods will be ready for collection from 9.30am on the collection date you have requested.
However, if you do not intend to consume the goods until the next day, I would advise requesting an evening collection so the goods can be made a fresh as possible the day before eating. If you do not specify this, the cupcakes will be made the day before collection and thus may already be 2 days old before you eat them.
Shelf life: Please bear in mind that my bakes are always best when at their freshest. Cakes have a shelf life, if correctly stored, of approximately 5 days and cupcakes 2-3 days.
Cooke Cakes will provide a price based on customers’ requirements but will be happy to tweak the scope of the cake in order meet a certain budget, if necessary.
BOOKING, DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS
Should you wish to proceed with a booking, you will be issued with an invoice outlining all of the details you have requested as part of your order. Once you have confirmed these details as being correct, a 25% deposit is required within 3 days to secure your booking in our diary (the outstanding balance payable 7 days prior to the collection date as stipulated on the invoice.) Deposits are payable by bank transfer, Paypal Friends and Family or by cash. Confirmation will be provided on receipt of deposit.
If a deposit is not received within 3 days from the date on which the invoice was issued, then the date will be offered to the next customer and we will consider your order cancelled.
If a deposit has been paid but the remaining balance has not been paid 7 days prior to the scheduled collection date, CookeCakes will contact the customer to see if they wish to proceed with the order. If no response is received/payment still not made, the booking will be cancelled.
Please note that all deposits are non-refundable except in rare event that CookeCakes has to cancel the order, in which case a full refund of any monies paid will be made to the customer.
CookeCakes prefers payment by bank transfer, however, should customers wish to pay via Paypal, CookeCakes kindly requests that customers use the “friends and family” transfer option. Should customers prefer to use an alternative Paypal option, an extra fee may be applied to cover the charges imposed by PayPal.
ALLERGIES
Please note that since Cooke Cakes prepares baked goods in a kitchen that uses all 14 allergens, no guarantees can be made with regards to specific allergy requirements.
Whilst Cooke Cakes will endeavour to use ingredients that do not contain certain allergens, where requested, we cannot be held responsible for any ingredient contaminated at source, or any harm that may occur as a result of consuming our products. If you are unsure, please just ask. We will not take risks where allergies are concerned and if we cannot guarantee the safety of those intended to consume our products, we will politely decline fulfilment of the order. CHANGE OF DATES/SCOPE
If, for any reason, you need to change the date on which your cake is required, please notify us asap. We will do our best to accommodate the change but unfortunately due to other bookings this may not always be possible. At our discretion, your deposit may be transferred to another booking/date/cake within a specified time frame.
Please note that any changes to the scope of the cake – size, design, etc. – may be subject to additional costs. Cooke Cakes reserves the right to revise the cost of the cake should changes be requested.
Please note that all orders requested for a certain date will be ready for collection after 9.30am on the specified date. Should you require the baked goods the day before, for example, you must specify this as the collection date at the time of booking.
COLLECTION
As I work from my home, cakes must be collected at a pre-arranged time. Please strictly adhere to these times or let me know as soon as possible if there are any problems. Cakes that are collected by the customer are always boxed for transportation. It is advised that you arrive with an empty boot or passenger foot well as these are the best options to transport the cake since they are both flat surfaces. Do not put your cake on the car seat as it may fall off or slide.
Once the cake is collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the cake is with the customer, we will not be held responsible for any damage to the cake after it has been collected. However, my support is always available and I can advise if any damage is fixable.
Where possible, always try to store cakes above 5 degrees Celsius but below 25 degrees Celsius. Drip cakes are chilled prior to collection and should be left to acclimatise to room temperature for a minimum of 4 hours prior to consumption.
CANCELLATION POLICY
*Deposits are non-refundable*
Customers wishing to cancel their order less than 48 hours before the cake is due to be collected will be liable for the full cost of the cake/cupcakes.
